Overview

This guide lets you install Report Builder on your Jira Data Center Instance. Find out what you need to start the installation and how to do it properly and easily.

Required permissions

Firstly, for an installation of Report Builder on Jira Data Center, it’s necessary to:

have a Jira account with administrative rights,
and to have an Atlassian account.

Make sure if both requirements are met and get started with the installation.

Installation from Jira

Installation steps

Step 1

Log into Jira with your administration account. Navigate to the Jira Administration section in the top right corner and click on it. After that, choose Manage apps in the dropdown menu.

Step 1 - As and administrator, navigate to “Manage apps“

Step 2

Look at the Atlassian Marketplace for Jira. Find the Report Builder using the search, and see the app in the search results.

Step 2 - Report Builder App found through Jira

Now you can click “Free trial“ to start with the app.

Step 3

Click on “Free trial“ button, then click “Get license“ in a modal window. Read the announcement about the Privacy policy and terms of use, and click Accept & install.

Step 3 - Click “Free trial“, and then click “Get license“

Notice the app version number and whether the latest version of Report Builder for Data Center is compatible with your Jira version.

If there is no Report Builder in the search results, that means your Jira version is incompatible with any Report Builder versions.

Step 4

Generate the license key: You will be redirected to My Atlassian to get the license key. Use your Atlassian account for generating the key. Enter the name of your organization, activate the agreement checkbox, and click the Generate License button.

Step 4 - Read and agree to the Terms of Use, and then click “Generate License“

After the key pops up, you can copy it to the clipboard.

Step 5

Go back to the Atlassian Marketplace for Jira page. Find the Manage apps tab at the left top corner, click on it and see the user-installed apps list.

Find Report Builder in this list and click on it to see the app information.

Step 6

Now, you can paste the key which you copied before to the License key field.

Step 6 - Update the license key

Enter the license key, and press “Update“ button.

Congratulations, installation is finished!

Step 7

You can use the Configure button in this section to start with the configuration of your app.

Step 7 - Proceed to Report Builder Configuration

License Term

Notice the license term: your trial version will be valid for 30 days, and after the trial period expires, you will be charged for the app.

Installation from the Atlassian Marketplace website

You can download Report Builder directly from the Atlassian Marketplace website.

Step 1

Open Atlassian Marketplace website Atlassian Marketplace in your browser. Find Report Builder via search:

Open the Report Builder page by clicking on the app.

On the Report Builder page choose Data Center in the dropdown menu. Then click “Try it free“ button.

Step 3 - Choose “Data Center“ and click “Try it free“

Click on the “Start free trial“ button.

Generate the license key: You will be redirected to My Atlassian to get the license key. Use your Atlassian account for generating the key. Enter the name of your organization, activate the agreement checkbox, and click the Generate License button.

Copy the key to the clipboard and click on the Download button to download the Report Builder to your local system.

When the download is finished, open Atlassian Marketplace for Jira/Manage apps and see the user-installed apps list. Find the Upload App button and upload the Report Builder file.

Find the Report Builder in the user-installed apps list after it, click on it to see the app information, and paste the key which you copied before to the License key field.
