Overview

Configuration module can be accessed only by Jira Administrators. With this module you can apply settings related to work with periods, global calendars, permissions for creating teams, timer set up.

How to access Configuration module?

Once you installed the app, you can access Configuration module The changes applied on the configuration level are inherited on the individual team level.

To set up the Timesheet Builder easy and fast please use this documentation page. If you need some additional or specific settings please kindly refer to the documentation of respective configuration tabs.

Easy set up

To start working with the app you need to set up some options settings according to your business needs. Configuration can be accessed by:

  • clicking on Configure button in Manage apps - Timesheet Builder app section.

  • choosing Teams (Timesheet Builder) or My Timesheets (Timesheet Builder) module from Apps and clicking on gear icon in the left navigation.

Which options should be set up for team work, periods and capacity calculation?

To start using periods and capacity calculation logic, you should configure options on Periods and Permissions tabs. Permissions configuration should be done, if you have stricted permissions model in your organization and if you need to limit some actions, such as team creation, managing all teams.

How can I switch to Timesheet Builder Work log panel?

Please kindly read this article in order to get some suggestions, what should be set up before app usage.

Once you installed the app, please kindly navigate o the configuration and set up the following settings:

  1. On the Dates and periods tab please set up:

    1. First day of the week (Mon or Sun)

    2. Period and its duration (if you have some periods closure and worklog approvals process)

    3. Period start date (the first period which capacity will be calculated)

  2. Data Center only: On the Worklogs tab allow or disallow to use secured worklogs

  3. On the Permissions tab decide who will be able to create and manage teams

  4. Switch to the Timesheet Builder work log panel Please kindly refer to respective articles for Cloud and Data Center versions.
