Permissions Monitoring for Jira

Overview

One requirement that occurs in many global data protection regulations is that you must always know who is able to access personal data. In some projects and use cases, you will process personal data, and you need to document who has access to it.

Our Permission Monitoring module allows you to do it quickly and easily.

Permissions Monitoring page

There are two ways to find the Permissions Monitoring module in Jira:

  1. Navigate to Manage apps, find Data Protection and Security Toolkit section in the left sidebar and Permission Monitoring in it. Click on it, and you can start working

  2. Open the Data Protection and Security Toolkit Home page and find the Permission Monitoring button. Click on it, and you can start working

Permission Types

The module provides the ability to track and display 2 types of permissions:

  • Current permissions — a list of all current permissions for a particular user, group, or project

  • Historical permissions — a history of all permission changes for a user, group, or project

Choose the type which you need using the radio button in the top right corner of the page.

Current permissions

Current permissions

To view the current permissions, select a user, group, or project in the appropriate field. In the result table, you can see what project the permission belongs to (Project column), who has this permission (User column), and the permission itself (Permission column).

To start new filtering, just click on the Clear button in the top right corner and select another user, group, or project.
