Enable Profile visibility for everyone

Choose one of the options:

  • Enable Profile visibility for everyone. By default, every Jira user can view everyone’s profile.

  • Disable Profile visibility for everyone. Choose this option when it’s necessary to hide personal users' information from everyone. In this case, users can’t see profiles of each other.

  • Allow users to configure their own visibility rules. Choose this option if you want users to manage their profile’s visibility by themself. In this case, users will see the GDPR section in their Jira profile with profile visibility settings where they can manage the Hide my profile from everyone parameter.

  • Make Profile visible for everyone in particular group. With this option you can set the visibility of groups of users for each other.

Let’s take a look at the Make Profile visible for everyone in particular group option in detail.

Pick this option when it’s necessary to restrict access to users' profiles making them visible only for some users' groups. To do this, follow the steps:

1. Define who will be able to view some profiles – select a group in the Target group field.

2. Define what users' profiles will be visible for the target group – select groups in the Can view user profiles from groups field. You can select multiple user groups.

3. Click on the Add button.

After that, you will see visibility settings that you made in the Current rules section:

You can delete created visibility rules by the Delete button in the Actions column.
