How to migrate the configuration from Report Builder to Timesheet Builder
Overview
Please note, that the import from the Report Builder to the Timesheet Builder is supported only up to 1.17.0 Timesheet Builder version. You can get some incompatibility issues trying to move the settings from the Report Buider to the Timesheet Builder 1.18.0 version and higher.
If you want to move settings from the Report Builder to the Timesheet Builder, please make sure that you have the Timesheet Builder version 1.17.0 or lower. After the import you can update to the latest version of the Timesheet Builder.
To import the configuration and be sure that no issues will appear during the process, please follow the steps below:
Upgrade to the version of Timesheet Builder which has the compatibility (1.17.0 or lower)
Export Report Builder settings
Import the data to the Timesheet Builder (1.17.0 or lower)
Upgrade the Timesheet Builder app to the latest version

It’s possible to migrate the following settings (including legacy ones):
Teams
Permissions tab (teamManager, teamActor, teamGlobalAdmin, scriptedReportsManager)
Dates (startDay, dateFormat)
Periods tab (periodsEnabled, periodsConfiguration, periodsStartDate)
Note: To perform export and import, you must have the Jira Administrators group rights for the Server version in both add-ons and the site admin or Jira admins group rights for the Cloud version!
Just follow our guide step by step!
Steps:
Step 1: Click on Report Builder in your Apps list and open the Report Builder Configuration section found on the left side. Navigate then to the Export/Import tap.
Step 2: Click on the Export Data button and copy the code using the Copy button.
Step 3: Open the Timesheet Builder Configuration section and find the Export/Import tab in it.
Step 4: Click on the Import Data button and paste the JSON copied from Report Builder before into the text field inside the modal.
Step 5: Click on the Import button. After that, you should see the notification about the successful data import.
Done! Now, your configuration is imported from Report Builder to Timesheet Builder!
Keep in mind: When importing, all the listed Configuration settings are transferred from Report Builder to Timesheet Builder, but before and after importing, we can also configure everything manually in Timesheet Builder.
