Bulk User Anonymization Feature

Overview

The Bulk User Anonymization feature in the Data Protection and Security Toolkit is designed exclusively for Jira Data Center. This feature allows administrators to search for and anonymize user data in bulk, based on specific criteria.

Feature Details

  1. Action Selection

    • Search: Administrators can search for users based on defined criteria.

    • Anonymization: Administrators can anonymize users based on the same criteria.

  2. Scope Selection
Users can define the scope of the search or anonymization process using the following options:

    • Period of Inactivity: Select a time frame to identify or anonymize users who have been inactive since the specified date.

    • Disabled Users: Search for or anonymize all disabled users within the instance.

    • Specific Groups: Choose specific groups from the instance for the search or anonymization.

    • Unknown Users: Search for or anonymize users classified as unknown.

    • Upload JSON File: Upload a JSON file containing a list of users to search for or anonymize.

    • Upload CSV File: Similar to the JSON option but allows for a CSV file upload.

  3. User List Review
After selecting the scope, a list of users will be generated. Administrators can manually review and remove any user from the list before proceeding.

  4. Processing Options

    • If Search is selected:

      • Input an email address to receive a notification with the search results.

      • Start the search process.

    • If Anonymization is selected:

      • Select a target user to replace all users that need to be anonymized.

      • Input an email address to receive a notification once the anonymization process is complete.

      • Start the anonymization process.

This feature provides a streamlined process for managing user data, helping administrators maintain compliance and data hygiene within their Jira Data Center instances.
